About Us
We are a Canadian based company that specializes in designing and building websites for small businesses. We are located 701 Rossland Road East, Suite 274,Whitby Ontario L1N 9K3.   We started our company in response to the high cost of web-design services that we used to outsource. Our first website cost us close to four thousand dollars ($4000), the design firm told us it was a HALF price deal. As small business owners we found that paying that much for a simple site was a very expensive form of advertising. This price did not include periodic updates – which was offered to us for $60 an hour.
We realized that not many small businesses can afford to spend $4,000 on a website, therefore we decided to figure out a way to provide websites to small businesses at more affordable prices. We networked among colleagues and friends and found a developer with 21 years of experience and a partnership was formed namely: www.webuildsmallbusinesswebsites.com.
The response to our services has been excellent (we will post some recent testimonials soon) some of our clients have asked for confidentiality and we therefore cannot advertise their completed sites in Our Portfolio.
We are committed to helping other small business promote their businesses on the internet. Our pricing reflects that committment.
We strongly suggest that you do not buy more than what you need.
What size website is right for your business?
This really depends on what your business is selling. For example – if you operate an auto-body repair shop you will likely need less pages than a beauty supplies store that offers hundreds of items in their online inventory. From our experience 5 – 10 pages will be more than sufficient for most businesses.
The most important thing is that your website must advertise :
- Your goods or services (our services or our products page)
- How to contact you (contact us)
- About your business (about us)
- What past customers say about your services or your products (testimonials)
- A photo presentation of what you have to offer (photo gallery or catalogue)
You can advertise anything you want to on your website – but you must not lose sight of what your website is for – to promote your business and get customers! Don’t get drawn into flashy and noisy websites unless you are in the DeeJay music business. If you are not in the entertainment business – stay away from putting a lot of distractions on your site – if will not get you customers. Present your business in a professional way and visitors will see you and your business as such.
